Things I love about Florida...yes you read that right.
1. Eating icecream on the beach. (Ignore my man-hand)
2. Always having somewhere to go. Naples, Orlando, the Keys, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale...
3. Going to the broadwalk on Hollywood Beach. (yes, it's broadwalk, not boardwalk)
4.
3. Playing tag with the foam. It always catches me. Apparently, I'm not very quick. I know that surprises you.
4. Getting hit on by random men. I love the "Jose"s and "Danielle"s that "love" my beautiful smile. Those foreigners like their women thick! Makes for some funny stories.
5. Living 10 minutes from the airport. There's really only one airport in Colorado and two in Missouri, so it's nice to be close to two different airports.
6. Working one block from my house. Makes it convenient when I'm running late.
7. Going to an awesome church where I can be involved in ministry any night of the week.
8. Getting a tan in December...if I actually have time to do so.
9. Having good friends that take me out on the boat or to baseball games.
10. Living with great roommates. Sorry, the picture is so small.
11. Having consistent internet access.
12. Driving with the windows down and the radio as loud as I want any time of the year. Well, except for the rainy season.
13. Enjoying a day off for a hurricane. But only if the hurricane doesn't really hit us, or is just a tropical storm.

A Little Bit Broken Heart
I was told by one of my students that today was his last day because his mom was leaving his dad. She is taking the kids and going to the grandmother's house. We only have 8 days of school left. My heart hurts.
Pray for the family, if you think about it. I'm trying to work it out for him to be able to stay at school. Or at least come to graduation. Pray that it'll work out. He needs SOME stability in his life.

I'm Basically Famous- Try Not To Be Jealous
At least famous enough to be quoted. I was doing my "clicking on the right side of my blog where the list of visitors/where they came from are" and found myself here...

Warning: It has some vulgar language. Not my post, but the blog it was quoted in.

AI-See Ya Syesha
Even though I like her, I think Syesha's going home.
I love David Cook.
David A's arm movements are so irritating.

I Think I Found It
Whad'ya think about this for the graduation song?
I just need to change the words a little. I think. The "I must go and follow love" part. Which I realize is the title, but it doesn't really fit graduation. Maybe "follow God" or "move on". Any suggestions?
Follow Love
I'm gonna miss the simple town full of memories
I'm gonna miss just hanging out with all my friends
The rainy days and summer nights
Skipping stones by the river side
But i know.. its time to go
So heres goodbye heres so long
I must go and follow love
I feel my heart moving on
I must go and follow love
Carry on while I'm gone
This is what i've been dreaming of
I miss you so
But i must go, go and follow love
I've got a heart thats full of dreams
and a little bit of crazy
I can feel it pulling me to somewhere i have never been
I'm packing up and leaving home
To travel into the great unknown
Its time, i have to go
So heres goodbye heres so long
I must go and follow love
I feel my heart moving on
I must go and follow love
Carry on while I'm gone
This is what i've been dreaming of
I miss you so
But i must go, go and follow love
Were not guarranted tomorrow
So we must just keep on living for the day
and make the most of every moment
every step along the way...oh
So heres goodbye heres so long
I must go and follow love
I feel my heart moving on
I must go and follow love
Carry on while I'm gone
This is what i've been dreaming of
I miss you so
But i must go, go and follow love
I must go, go and follow love

I'm Reposting but It's About My Mom
Thirteen things I love about my mother...
- Her laugh- we have the exact same laugh except mine is a little higher pitched. When I was in HS, we would be working on my homework together and get to laughing. It was at the same beat and melody which of course would only make us laugh harder.
- Her silly, silly childhood stories- I tell them to everyone I know, much to her embarrassment but to everyone else's enjoyment. I especially like the one with the kitten stuffed in the paint can.
- Her heart to tell others about Christ- I know she doesn't believe she does a good job but I think she has a huge impact on those around her. She is her mother's daughter.
- Her patience for those closest to her- My brother, my dad and yes, that even includes me.
- Her ability to keep the main staples in the house when I'm home- Little Debbies, Carmex, diet soda.
- Her desire to pick up/clean the house before I come to visit- She always makes sure the house is spotless before I come home. I appreciate that she takes that time because it shows me that she loves me
- Her love of piano- She is a great pianist and has spoiled me terribly as a singer. No one ever accompanies me as well as she does.
- Her story-telling abilities- She is a great story-teller. I envy the way she can spin a tale.
- Her passion for ministry- She's not satisfied unless she's involved in her church. She has taught me well.
- Her carepackages and cards- When I was in college and even as an adult out on my own, I received my best mail from her. I'd open the box and find the funniest things like spatulas or 4 tubs of Carmex, a popup music box that plays "You Are My Sunshine", bags of balloons, streamers and blowhorns.
- Her love for kids- Even though she's not teaching, she's still found a way to be around children, piano lessons and Sunday School. And her stories of them are always hilarious!
- Her ability, actually lack thereof, to finish a movie that's started after 7pm- I've finished countless movies by myself that we started together. Two minutes in, her head's bobbing like a yo-yo.
I love you Mom! Happy Mother's Day!

Bad Dog!!
If this dog poos or pees on the floor one more time, I may have to drop kick him across the room!
Arg!
The picture's blurry because he wouldn't be still. If you'll notice the can behind him...that's the carpet cleaner...I've had to use it 4 times today. And don't judge me. I've taken him outside at least 5 times.
And don't be deceived by his cute little fluffiness. That "definition of cuteness" contains enough pee and poo to cover the entire house. Twice.
P.S. I won't really do it. I'm just so frustrated.

Goings On in My Life
So, here are a few of the things I've been up to this week...
- I have a guest staying with me this weekend. It's a little dog named Bently. He's precious but feels like it's his duty to terrorize my roommate's dog, Diego.
- I went to our HS prom tonight. Only for about an hour. The food...not so good. The music...not so good. But the location was nice. I wore the dress I bought for my roommates wedding that never happened. Gotta get some use out of it.
- Last night, after driving around for about an hour and a half trying to find the field, I went to see two of my students play baseball. They're both on league teams and were playing against each other. Very fun.
- On Wednesday night, I went with my friend/principal to a culinary college for a tour and dinner. It was amazing. The food was spectacular. And the professors/administration were so much fun.
- My plans for the weekend? Beach, sleep, basketball game, sleep, movies, church- only two services, a student's birthday party, spend time with some friends. Man, I love these kinds of weekends. They happen so few and far between.
- Next weekend I sing. The next weekend I'm going out of town and then the next will be filled with visiting friends. My best friends from college. Which also means school is over. Yes!
- I only have 11 days of school left. Two full weeks and then graduation day/clean up my room/finish up grades/throw a graduation bash/get ready for company.
- I'm home alone for the weekend. This is the first time since I've moved back down here that this has occurred. Don't get me wrong, I love my roommates but I LOVE being home alone. I plan to be as selfish as possible. And clean. And take care of dogs.
- I'm the worst daughter ever. I've been so busy this week that I haven't had time to mail my mom's gift. I never do this. I'm usually really good at sending gifts but it's been a crazy week. Sorry, mom. It'll be there by the beginning of next week.
- My student's made up a care package for a soldier serving in Iraq. It's gonna cost about $100 to send 3 boxes so they donated the money and the items. Well, about a month or so ago, $70 was stolen from it. To rememdy the situation, we held an auction on Wednesday and raised $125. So, now we have enough to send the boxes and get more stuff to put in them. I spent $13 in the dollar store to buy the items to be auctioned. Nice return, huh?
- So, I'll be spending part of my day in the post office tomorrow sending my mom's gift and the care packages. Good times.

Thursday Thirteen
13 things you may or may not know about me:
- My favorite color pair is teal and brown. I own several articles of clothing that incorporate these two colors, as does my room.
- I have a crazy eye but do my best to hide it.
- I'm totally addicted to Carmex. This stems from a year in my younger days when my lips were so dry during the night that they would crack.
- I cry at every "Grey's Anatomy" show.
- My favorite "Friends" (tv show) moments would have to be the one about Ross' leather pants, Joey learning French, Ross and Joey stuck on the fire escape, and Ross and Rachel stuck outside their apartmen with Emily stuck inside.
- I am rewriting the Bible, Reading and Vocabulary curriculum for 6th grade.
- When I was a little kid, I busted my tooth on the teacup ride at the fair. I was riding by myself and spun so fast that the force made me bash my mouth on the wheel.
- I'm completely addicted to musicals on CD. Well, the songs from musicals. Especially "Dreamgirls", "Across the Universe", "Wicked" and "Seussical the Musical".
- One of my legs is a little bit longer than the other.
- I can wiggle my ears.
- I'm super competitive. Especially with volleyball and ping-pong...don't judge.
- I've coached volleyball, basketball, and baseball. And just reffed volleyball. But I have done scoreboards for basketball.
- During college, I used to cut my own hair. And I've always colored my own hair. Only turned it green once.

Help Me Choose
Okay, here are the songs I'm trying to choose between for High School graduation. Help me choose. Don't pay attention to the video. I just need you to listen to the song.
If you can think of anything else, let me know. Thanks!

That's Funny
So, I'm obsessed with the "Live Traffic Feed" on the left side of my blog. It shows where you're from and how you found my page. Sometimes, random people find me through a search engine and if I can, I like to see what they were searching for. Well, I just clicked on one of those random people and do you know how they found me? They were looking for a recipe for "Bully Soup". How weird is that? Of all the things to bring a person to my page. I mean, who 'Googles' Bully Soup, anyway?
Apparently me and somebody from Houston, Texas.
This what I saw:
The Inner Voices of a Spinster in the Making: Random Thoughts #2
I made 'Bully Soup' and 'hardtack' for my students on Friday to finish up our thematic unit on the Civil War. And yes it tastes as disgusting as it sounds. http://innervoicesofaspinster.blogspot.com/2008/03/random-thoughts-2.html
